Your Firm and the Community - Volunteer Work
July 24th, 2010We all know that volunteer work is a great way to help build stronger communities as well as aiding people in need. However, organizing this is often rather tricky, and let’s not forget that’s free time better used to do some good.
So, firms have begun making themselves into points of organization to help their employees work for the community through volunteer activities. One of the leaders in this is Adaptive Marketing LLC who also offer shopping and financial benefits programs including Leisure Exclusives to consumers.
Fortunately, company supported charitable work is more than blood drives and once-a-year charitable giving. Looking at just one company, Adaptive Marketing has provided its staff members with opportunities to help with anything from shoe recycling campaigns to local tree-planting days. Once all the pertinent information - date, location, time, type, et cetera - had been clearly displayed it is a simple matter for employees to set aside the time for volunteering and how they’d be using it. Making sure volunteers have their say in what programs are available is essential. Staff from Adaptive Marketing, the firm who offers the program Leisure Exclusives, can choose from many local volunteer events. Volunteers may find themselves helping to promote culture, working with youth activities, encouraging environmental initiatives et cetera. This gives Adaptive Marketing volunteers opportunities to use their time as efficiently as they can and enjoy their time volunteering. Commonly a company-supported volunteer program - fundraising with a homeless shelter, say, or assisting at a local school - is either done on a regular schedule or as a one-off event. What this means is if you can only find a few hours to assist at the public library’s used book sale or a Saturday morning park clean-up, you’ve still got plenty of time to help.
Commercial history is full of tales of organizations giving back to the people who live nearby. Goodwill is generated by the actions of Adaptive Marketing’s staff members through company sponsored projects like the ones outlined earlier. Another aspect is, the benefits of volunteer work include a sense of accomplishment and generosity - a positive feeling that leaves not just the volunteer but the whole company feeling better. It’s our hope that by now the positives for everyone involved of a company supported volunteer program are ought to be self-evident for everyone.
