A Life of Creation: Nicholas Bredimus
July 5th, 2010Raised from birth in New Jersey, Nicholas Bredimus merged the worlds of hospitality, software, and airlines and revitalized these trades. His CV covers effort-saving software, aircraft safety enhancements, and even the design of high value homes. Not only that but, through it all, his drive shines through. You could have foreseen, though, that with his heritage he was sure to rise to distinction. Traceable back to the glory days of Rome and Bredimus’ family tree has associations with many countries in Europe. Within the maternal line he descends from Scottish and German bloodlines. A similarly broad mix stands out in the paternal branch — prior to coming to America in the late nineteenth century, the family made their homes in England and Luxembourg.
After they arrived in America, the line continued to persevere and make their way in the world. One of seven children — four girls and three boys — Nicholas was blessed with a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who earned her living as a practicing nurse. Mr Bredimus went on to make his home in Texas for a while and also spent time in Reston, VA, Kansas City, MO and Scottsdale, AZ. So what did Bredimus do with his upbringing and education? A number of prominent jobs were soon his, each one working for big airlines. Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA) — these businesses would all at various times respectively name him their Vice President. An industrious software programmer, Bredimus’ pioneering designs for airline software are probably his best regarded legacy.

His trailblazing innovations in the field of airplane maintenance management computer programs, now commonplace throughout the air travel business although initially designed for one specific firm, ultimately led to what is even now his most famous program. This was just one of his memorable creations for the hotel sector. His booking software is on its way to becoming as commonly used as the aforementioned software, and his hotel reservation program empowered several major sectors of the hotel industry to shift to the first pc based infrastructure. Afterwards he published an online, networked approach to ticket ordering which was an industry first. Albeit this was his specialty, Mr Nicholas Bredimus has regularly worked on non-software fields. He managed American Express’ IT wing, started up Bredimus Systems seventeen years ago, and had the honor of becoming the first president of a major American Airlines division. Is he still active? Of course — his skills are ready to answer the call no matter his leaving prior interests behind. Currently, he designs and builds luxurious homes designed around all of the latest eco technology to be found anywhere.
