TIE Technologies Acquires Mobile Apps, Inc

TIE Technologies, Inc., announced its acquisition of iPhone application Mobile Chat under Mobile Apps, Inc. The technology and hosting services provider took control of the whole of Mobile Apps, Inc and its shares. In return, TIE Technologies awarded 199,000 shares of its company to Mobile Apps, Inc.

Mobile Apps owns Mobile Chat, a type of iPhone application that is approved for the use in Apple iTunes, iPod Touch and iPhone. This venture launches TIE into the mobile applications industry. As Apple has become a saleable product line, the company is confident that the best Apps are going to be a runaway success. According to Juniper research, the market for mobile apps is touted to grow to as much as $25 billion over the next five years.

Offering the services of MobileChat will become an immediate source of revenue for TIE with the infrastructure designed to deliver not only this particular application but other upcoming apps to the marketplace.
It will only be a matter of time before the next versions of MobileChat will be made available to users. TIE is looking into designing MobileChat versions that are compatible on other mobile platforms. The company also expects to introduce more mobile applications in the future. Its line of mobile apps are going to be delivered through the company’s IT division, Whirlwind Hosting.

Mobile Apps is a valuable addition to the TIE company, says TIE Technologies executive vice president Graham Mew. Aside from acquiring a successful application that already comes with a strong consumer following, it has also managed to land a possible distribution relationship with Apple for its upcoming products and services. It is currently working to launch new mobile applications that will hopefully be awarded the same level of approval as MobileChat not only by Apple but all other mobile platforms in general.
