Whizz around on an Electric Scooter

What was that red, silver and black blur? Chances are it was someone whizzing around with the power of electricity on a battery powered scooter. Finally the electric scooter has been shaped and developed to perfection and now it’s in its element this winter 2008.

We’re sure you’ll agree that it looks pretty sleek, yet sturdy. Every part of this model adheres to the UK and EU guidelines for safety and with the smooth electric motor you can travel at a speed of up to 10 miles per hour, in complete comfort. Ok so maybe it’s not quite as majestic or elegant as riding a horse side-saddle on the beach, but for many of us that is not a viable option and riding an electric scooter with the wind blowing through our hair is much more practical anyway. Especially as when you’re done you can either charge it up again for 2 to 6 hours for another 5 to 8 miles of travel, or fold it up neatly and store it somewhere safe.

For this low price you get the scooter itself, a mains adapter to charge up the rechargeable battery (also included) a detailed instruction booklet on how to put it together and a user guide and here’s the best bit: the unique breaking system. Linked directly to the wheels themselves this particular model of electric scooter has the brake button on the back of the body where you stand, rather than on the handlebars. Just slide one foot behind the other and press the black button with your heel to feel the fast and powerful brakes.

Getting around is now easier than walking, more compact than biking, cheaper than catching a bus and greener than catching a train. We can’t find fault with the electric scooter and quite frankly it’s a more fun way of getting around than any other form of transport we can think of!
